Hygieia Crepe Repair cream is a synergistic formulation of the following clinically-proven ingredients, delivered in a liposomal system.

Hyaluronic acid is a natural polymer found in skin and joints. It has strong water-attractant properties, so it helps the skin better hold on to moisture. A clinical study from Miami Skin Institute showed that hyaluronic acid improved skin hydration by almost 100% and decreased the depth of wrinkles by up to 40%. These results were observed as early as two weeks into the clinical trial.

Retinol or vitamin A is crucial for skin health and many people don’t consume enough of it. It activates genes that stimulate cell turnover, increased collagen and elastin production, and reduced excess skin pigmentation. These changes improve skin thickness, strengthen the skin barriers, and put hyaluronic acid and collagen in the right places. Therefore, retinol is an important ingredient for crepey and wrinkle skin repair.

Glycolic acid turns on skin renewal genes which activate collagen production and increase hyaluronic acid. At the same time, it loosens and exfoliates the stratum corneum layer, allowing other ingredients in the cream to penetrate deeper layers of your skin without compromising the skin barrier.

Vitamin E is a potent fat-soluble antioxidant that strengthens the skin barrier and protects the skin from sun damage and other sources of day to day oxidative stress.

Idebenone is a water-soluble analog of CoQ10, an anti-aging mitochondria antioxidant and electron carrier. Idebenone enters the mitochondria more readily than CoQ10. Studies have shown that idebenone can jumpstart the mitochondria, which reactivates your skin’s natural repair processes. A clinical study has shown that it reduces fine lines and wrinkles by 29% within 6 weeks of use.

Collagen is the most abundant structural protein in your body. In your skin, it gives the elastic and youthful appearance. In a clinical study from France, 3% collagen peptides can significantly reduce the number and depth of wrinkles within 4 weeks.

L-Lysine is an essential amino acid that is a building block of collagen. As a topical skin ingredient, it is an amino acid used in the crosslinking of collagen fibers.

L-ornithine is an amino acid that doesn’t get used as part of proteins. It stimulates skin regeneration by supporting collagen production and increasing nitric oxide levels.

L-glutamine is so important that it is the most abundant amino acid in the body. In the skin, it supports balanced immune function and regenerative processes that aid in skin repair. Glutamine also turns on collagen genes and works as a building block for collagen.
